Digital Artistry: Brush Companion

Running time: 64 minutes

Award winning author, illustrator, and instructor John Mueller demonstrates over 60 brushes in this 90 minute video. Like with any tool, it is only as good as your understanding of it's purpose. In this video John shows how each brush in his brush set behaves and it's possible utilities described in categories of Blocking, Shaping, Drawing, and Texture.

The goal of the 101 series is to equip the aspiring digital artist the fundamental knowledge that will get them off and learning on the right track. I wanted to produce a series of  tutorials that really catered to the artist who is trying to get a foothold in the world of digital illustration. I've worked digitally at a professional level for 20 years and I've learned a great deal in that time. Painting digitally is actually really much easier than physical media but there are some really bad pitfalls and habits that can develop that will limit your growth. My process reflects an underlying philosophy of keeping it simple to get consistent results that will improve as you regularly practice these concepts.
